In 2007, UGM stated their vision to be the Wold-Class Research University that focused on fulfilling the nation’s need based on Pancasila (5 Basic Principles of Indonesia). Seeing the importance of research, UGM has taken a step to unite the research activity and community service into a one institution called Research and Community Service Institution/Lembaga Penelitian dan Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat (LPPM).
LPPM UGM borned as a fusion of Research Institution and Community Service Institution, both are UGM’S Institution. The institutes for the establishment of LPPM is SK Rektor no. 47/P/SK/HT/2006 with hope that the outcomes of the research will be useful for society. Then, we hope LPPM UGM can optimally support UGM to reach their vision of being World-Class Research University.
LPPM is under the supervision of vice rector of research and community service. So, in the operational, LPPM is consulting and reporting the result to the vice rector of research and community service. It’s LPPM’S duty to facilitate, coordinate and improve the quality and quantity of community service in UGM, and do multidisciplinary research or collaborative research.
