The Second Half of PPAr UGM Students’ Journey in Preparing for the C40: Reinventing Cities Competition

Students of PPAr UGM had finished submitting their design proposals for C40: Reinventing Cities Competition. Accordingly, the students had also completed their journey in participating the Professional Studio II course as they now wait for announcements from the competition. To end the course, on its final exam as well as its final display, the students presented their designs to their supervisors and two guest architects: Ar. Syaref Pramono,S.T. IAI., AA and Ar. Aditya Noor Hadhy Utama, S.T., M.Ars., IAI.

The students’ final designs for C40: Reinventing Cities Competition were the fruits of accumulated reviews given to the students from various guest reviewers of different expertises throughout Professional Studio II. The experts and guest reviewers invited during the second half of the semester are Ashar Saputra (DTSL UGM), Ar. Budi Sumaatmadja (Anggara Architeam), Daud Condroraharja (GBCI Representative of Yogyakarta), and Budi Kamulyan (MEP dan Regional Infrastructure expert). These series of displays and reviews were all conducted on different dates throughout May and June 2025.

This event goes hand in hand with SDG 4: Quality Education, SDG 9: Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure, SDG 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities, and SDG 13: Climate Action.
