In the spirit of welcoming the new academic year, the Even Semester of 2022/2023, Architecture Undergraduate Study Program, Universitas Gadjah Mada, held an opening lecture in collaboration with PT Platinum Ceramics Industry and Gregorius Supie Yolodi (d-associates) as the speaker on Tuesday (14/02). Although this lecture is mandatory for undergraduate students, other students from different study programs or degree levels in Architecture and Planning Department, Universitas Gadjah Mada, attended this lecture.
Opened at 07.30 GMT+7 (WIB), Room K1 Architecture and Planning Department, Universitas Gadjah Mada, filled with students from various batches registered. Goodie bags were given for students and lecturers who joined the lecture provided by PT Platinum Ceramics Industry. The lecture continued with a speech by the Head of Architecture Undergraduate Study Program, Harry Kurniawan, ST., M.Sc., Ph.D., as well as explaining the purpose of this program, which actually intersects with MateREALity class as a specific class to educate students about building materials in real life. He hoped this opening lecture will broaden the students’ knowledge about architect as a profession and the reality of building materials in the field. Then, the representatives of PT Platinum Ceramics Industry presented their products and its specification.
The next session was the main lecture, themed “Visioning Your Architecture” presented by Gregorius Supie Yolodi as the Principal Architect of d-associates. The lecture was initiated with in-depth explanation about architect as a profession, followed by some stories about various projects that have been and are being carried out by d-associates. The enthusiasm from the students were evident from many participants were active in question-and-answer session, both in this lecture and the previous one.
The event finally closed at 11.00 GMT+7 (WIB) followed by photo session with the speakers, and the result of Instagram Story competition by PT Platinum Ceramics Industry that had been announced before the lecture. To win this competition, the participants had to post a story about this lecture and tag Platinum Ceramics’s Instagram account. There are four students from various study programs and batches who won the competition. Finally, the participants were allowed to return and continue their classes.
