ARS 2301 Study of Architecture Practice (2 SKS)
This course teaches the students to be able to get more insight into the world of architecture and off-campus planning. In this activity, students determine their own place of work, conduct their own activities and plan their departure, and determine the theme of the study. The course is conducted through combination of lecturing in classroom, field study to several places related to the theme of study, and group projects under the supervision of a lecturer.
ARS 3301 Environmental Accessibility (2 SKS)
The course teaches the students to be able to understand about universal design in Architecture, which means creating spaces that meet the needs of all people, young and old, able and disabled. The course is conducted through combination of series of lecture in class, social experiment, and field work.
ARS 3302 Techniques for Architectural Communication (2 SKS)
The course teaches the students to be able to present architectural works in various media, both manual and digital, and mastering the basic rules of visual communication for architecture. The course is conducted through combination of lecturing in classroom and group project related to the course under the supervision of a lecturer.
ARS 3303 Environment Behavior Survey Method (2 SKS)
The course teaches the students to be able to understand the techniques and methods of conducting surveys related to human behavior and activities as users of artificial environments and using the results of surveys for the benefit of architectural / built environment design. The course is conducted through combination of lectures in class and field work.
ARS 3304 Hospital Architecture (2 SKS)
This course teaches the students to be able to know the basics of hospital architecture through the provision of principles, templates, and precedents. Principles that will be given include the principles of zoning and function, circulation and space, and form and character. Templates will be provided in various types, components and aspects. While precedents will be studied through secondary sources (best practices at home and abroad), as well as primary sources (direct survey to the field and identify problems and solutions). This course is conducted through lectures in class, field study, as well as individual and group project.
ARS 3305 Tropical Building Design (2 SKS)
The course teaches the students about the problems and design of models, structures, and building utilities in tropical climates. The course is conducted through combination of series of lecture in class and field work.
ARS 3306 Construction Methods (2 SKS)
The course teaches the students on how basic construction is made/utilized. The course is conducted through combination of lectures in class and experiments related to construction.
ARS 3307 Green Architecture (2 SKS)
This course teaches the students to be able to examine the link between environmentally friendly principles and architecture and the real application of Green Architecture concepts in the design of creative design works. The course is conducted through combination of lecturing in classroom and group project.
ARS 3308 Colonial Architecture in Indonesia (2 SKS)
The course teaches the students to be able to study the principles, concepts, and various architectural developments that occurred during the colonialism in Indonesia. The course is conducted through combination of lectures in class and independent literature study.
ARS 3309 Architectural Photography (2 SKS)
This course teaches the students the principles, basic and advanced techniques to photograph various types of architectural objects, as well as basic digital editing processes in architectural photography. This course aims to give students the ability to express and communicate their architectural ideas and works better in portofolio. This course is conducted through series of lectures in class.
ARS 3310 Vernacular Architecture (2 SKS)
This course teaches the students to be able to know the ins and outs of buildings by the community without involving professional architects using environmental and cultural natural resources to meet the needs of locality-based people both in terms of aspects of philosophy, religion, social structure and skills in cases of Urban Vernacular, Commercial Vernacular and Traditional Vernacular. The course is conducted through combination of lectures in class and independent literature study.
ARS 3311 Culture Appreciation (2 SKS)
The course teaches the students to be able to appreciate and study the original Indonesian architectures, both technically, materially, the division of space by deepening the rules. The course is conducted through combination of lecturing in classroom and field study to several places related to the course under the supervision of a lecturer.
ARS 3312 Tektonika of Nusantara Architecture (2 SKS)
This course teaches the students to be able to understand about the construction of structures in traditional buildings in Indonesia. The course is conducted through combination of lecturing in classroom and group discussion.
ARS 3313 Summer Course (2 SKS)
This course teaches the students to be able to enriching participant’s architectural vocabularies associated with aesthetics, art, and function. Aesthetics and function are important aspects in architecture. To enrich these two aspects, collaboration with other field that has the same basic knowledge is crucial. In the process of creating/ designing a work, the field of architecture is very closely related to art and culture.
ARS 4301 Professional Practice in Architecture (2 SKS)
The course teaches the students to be able to understand about professional practices in the field of architecture through the introduction of four basic components, namely: (1) Actors of Architectural Practices: Architects, (2) Market Architecture Practices: Clients, (3) Architectural Practice Bodies: Bureaus, and (4) Environment Strategic Architecture Practices: Law, Finance, and Future. This course is conducted through series of lectures in class.
ARS 4302 Waterfront Architecture (2 SKS)
The course teaches the students to be able to understand the theory and concept of waterfront architecture and be able to apply it in a design of waterfront and thematic waterfront buildings. The course is conducted through combination of lectures in class and independent literature study.
ARS 4303 Ecological Settlement (2 SKS)
The course teaches the students to be able to understand the principles of ecological design with settlement objects. The course is conducted through combination of lecturing in classroom and group discussion.
ARS 4304 Saujana (Cultural Landscape) (2 SKS)
This course teaches the students to be able to understand about the principles of the relationship between natural system (landscape) and community culture; cultural landscape phenomenon in various places; and the principles of conservation and management of cultural landscape. The course is conducted through series of lecturing in classroom as well as group study.
ARS 4305 Human Settlement Engineering (2 SKS)
This course teaches the students to be able to understand the theory and concept of residential architecture and be able to apply it to the architecture engineering system of settlements.
ARS 4306 Urban Engineering (2 SKS)
This course teaches the students to be able to understand the theories and concepts of urban design and be able to apply them in urban architecture engineering systems in the context of inclusive, futuristic and sustainable development.
ARS 4307 Sustainable Architecture (2 SKS)
The course teaches the students to be able to understand and discusses about sustainable design in this era with all the component in it, such as technology, materials, and the development now. The course is conducted through combination of lecturing in classroom and independent literature study.
ARS 4308 Wood Construction for Traditional Architecture (2 SKS)
The course teaches the students to be able to learn and understand wood construction techniques that exist in traditional buildings in Indonesia. The course is conducted through series of lectures in class and field study.
ARS 4309 Conservation of Heritage City (2 SKS)
The course teaches the students to be able to understand the principles, rules, and issues of conservation of heritage areas, both theoretically and implementatively. Direct learning is carried out in the field so that students are able to implement regional conservation techniques in the context of wider conservation management. The course is conducted through combination of lectures in class as well as group study.
ARS 4310 Heritage Architecture Design (2 SKS)
This course teaches the students to be able to studies the architecture of heritage or historic buildings. The course is conducted through series of lecturing in classroom as well as group study.
ARS 4311 Museum Design (2 SKS)
Study the design of buildings and museum displays by understanding their typology.
ARS 4312 Function Typology (2 SKS)
The course teaches the students to be able to understand the function typology of spaces in a simple building room, making it easier for the redesign process to be appropriate. The course is conducted through series of lectures in class as well as group study.
ARS 4313 BIM Integrated Design (2 SKS)
This course teaches the students to be able to understand the Building Information Modeling (BIM) technology as an architectural design method based on the use of media representations based on virtual or three-dimensional models. The Parametric Design Course utilizes the development of digital technology (CAD) to bridge the process gap between two-dimensional images with three-dimensional virtual models. The course is conducted through series of lecturing in classroom as well as tutoring class.
ARS 4314 Tourism Architecture (2 SKS)
This course teaches the students to be able to understand architectural designs in relation to tourism which includes 3 things, namely space as a tourism generator, space as a place of interaction between tourists (guests) and local people (hosts), and space affected by tourism. The course is conducted through combination of series of lecture in class and field study.
ARS 4315 Planning and Design of Thermal Comfort Cities (2 SKS)
This course teaches students to be able to understand the design and planning of the city towards thermal comfort in the city. The course is conducted through combination of lectures in class and independent literature study.
ARS 4316 Industrial Building Technology (2 SKS)
The course teaches the students to be able to understand the design standard for industrial buildings. The course is conducted through series of lectures in class and field study.
ARS 4317 Commercial Building Technology (2 SKS)
This course studies various types and requirements of commercial buildings, structures and commercial building utilities and their design approaches; including demands for architectural design, alternative structural and utility systems, load analysis and working styles, and economic approaches. The course is conducted through series of lectures in class and field study.
ARS 4318 Creativepreneur Program (2 SKS)
This course teaches the students to be able to creating new ideas and creatively inovate ordinary things to extraordinary products by producing and selling them. The course is conducted through series of lecturing in classroom, product making practice and exhibition.
ARS 4319 Parametric Design (2 SKS)
The course teaches the students to be able to discusses and understand parametric design as an architectural design method based on the use of variables and algorithms to develop various alternative designs from various geometric shapes. The Parametric Design Course utilizes the development of digital technology (CAD) to bridge the gap between studio-structure courses related to the construction logic of shapes and materials.
ARS 4301 Site Design and Planning (2 SKS)
This course teaches the students to be able to understand theories and principles about the site, so students are able to implement sustainable planning and design in context of the area. The course is conducted through combination of lecturing in classroom, group discussion, and field study to several places related to the course under the supervision of a lecturer.
ARS 4321 Pedestrian-Oriented Design (2 SKS)
The course teaches the students to be able to understand the principles of built environment design and its constituent elements in creating the comfort of user activity with pedestrians as a priority. This course is conducted through series of lectures in class.
ARS 4316 Digital Modeling and Fabricated in Architecture (2 SKS)
The course teaches the students to be able to udnderstand and design with digital modeling to create an object with modeling it with application, such as rhinoceros and grasshopper or other application.
ARS 5301 Green Building (2 SKS)
The course teaches the students to be able to design buildings in accordance with PERMEN PU 02-PRT-M- 2015, Pergub DKI No. 38, 2012, and Perwali Bandung No. 1023, 2016, concerning Green buildings. In addition, students are also introduced to several green building rating systems such as Greenship which are products of the Green Building Council Indonesia and EDGE by IFC – The World Bank Group which is a rating system used in almost 100 countries. As a professional architect, students will be given practical technical knowledge to do passive design that is done manually, or by using software simulations. The course is conducted through series of lecturing in classroom as well as tutoring class.
ARS 5306 Landscape Architecture (2 SKS)
The course teaches the students to be able to understand Landscape Architecture as a field of science that will form and manage the physical and artificial physical systemically continuously. With consideration of broader social, cultural, historical and environmental context. Landscape architecture combines science and art to create a better living space. Understanding of natural systems science, including the formation of soil, water flow, vegetation and ecology widely. While understanding Art is mainly visual design, such as shape, line, color, texture and scale. The course is conducted through series of lecturing in classroom as well as individual project.
ARS 5309 Integrated BIM (2 SKS)
The course teaches the students to be able to understand scope of the discussion that covers the following issues: 2D drafting, 3D modelling, project documentation, and visualization. The application that will be used and studied by students is Autodesk Revit 2017.
